Meet the Stamp Artists

The Virtual ..........

Linda Reid.......

My "Nom de Screen" is The Duchess (duchess of what I am not sure.......) I started using that name to avoid confusion because there were a lot of Lindas on my lists-lol!

I am a wife (of 29 years) a mother (of 2) and a grandmother (of 2)

I make my living with music (lucky me!) I am a music director at a church in Providence RI & I teach music in the school.

During the course of my life, I have tried my hand at many arts and crafts - bread dough, ribbon ornaments and for 10 years I crocheted enough doilies to adorn every couch, table and chair in my entire family!

My current passions are art stamping, tag stamping and collage with a smattering of polymer clay, calligraphy and book making, (not THAT kind!)

And my lifelong quest is the acquisition of materials to pursue the above.

I have not written any books but my work has been published in VSN, RSM, The Rubber Stamper, The Studio, Stamping Arts & Crafts and Somerset Studio.

I have done display samples for The Stampsmith, Anima Designs, Photo Art Stamps and gg designs.

I "met" Charlotte when I saw her hand carved designs at Dueling Modems and fell in love with them - I own about 90% of her stuff <VBG>

By nature, I am a messy & disorganized paper artist after spending over 20 years in performing arts (theater and music) so I am coming to serious pursuit of paper arts a little late (although I have been stamping in some capacity for 15 or so years) This was mostly because I had 2 kids and no time, focus or space! Now my kids are grown and my son's former bedroom is my studio/computer room!

I am very pleased to be at the gg designs site as a featured artist!

Tyler and TC, Linda's Grandson and Granddaughter.....held Grandma's place until her picture arrived.

We've gotten so used to them here, we will now hold their place, hoping for occasional photo updates.

(Hint...Linda!)

Linda was instrumental in there even being a "hand carved specialty" for gg designs. The first time they were presented on line, she purchased every stamp. She was the first--and now it can be told--the only--customer for the hand carved images that convention! But her enthusiasm was contagious and her support so gracious that we continued. I enjoy the carving process very much and some of you enjoy the results. For this we owe a debt of gratitude to Linda.

Thanks so much Linda, for all your help for the past almost three four (can it BE?) years.

Charlotte
