Judy Aguayo's "Summertime and the Stamping is Easy"

First....Meet Judy Judy: Do you want to know that I was born in Texas, now live in California, have five kids (grown-up, thank goodness), and seven grandkids? And one great husband! ggd: Yes, we want to know all that! And more! Judy: After retiring about five years ago, I almost made a wrong turn into quilting but got pulled into rubber stamping by my sister Sherry. Have taken many classes - some by famous teachers, most not-so-famous. Got interested in Cyberstampers classes last year and now teach an occasional on-line class for them. . Judy: What would I do if I didn't stamp? Would have to go back to work or take a world cruise to keep from getting bored! ggd: Quilting is OK, but we're glad you got into stamping. We vote a resounding "NO" on going back to work. A world cruise on the otherhand......!

Summertime and the Stamping is Easy Jacks Stamp image on computer paper cut out. Then cut out around one jack. Put temporary glue on back and let dry. Place mask over stamp and ink jack with slate inkpad. Remove mask and stamp on 3 3/4" x 5" card stock. Repeat until covered. Layer on red card stock, then attach to black card. Place strips of post-paper over ball image. Ink stamp with slate inkpad. Remove paper from ball and ink with red marker. Huff on stamp, then stamp on white card stock. Color image with red and grey colored pencils. Cut out. Layer on red card stock. Cut out. Layer on black card stock and cut out one more time. Attach to card front. Lemonade Card Words are printed on computer, then card stock is folded. Words for front can be printed on same card stock or another piece, if you want to make multiple cards. Stamp lemons with Brilliance Yellow Pearlescent ink on 3 3/4" x 5" card stock. Ink strawberry with red and green markers. Huff on stamp, then stamp randomly on card stock, re-inking each time. NOTE from ggd: "Strawberry" is actually three small leaves with one leaf colored red to simulate a berry. Isn't that Judy clever? Also stamp strawberry around edge of folded card after the inside has been printed. Layer lemons on green card stock, then attach to card front. Words are computer generated. Cut out, layer with green and attach to card front. Inside: Stamp pitcher at an angle with green pigment ink. Emboss with clear embossing powder. Using a piece of paper as a straight edge, color lemonade with yellow Brilliance ink and a small stipple brush. Butterflies Card Body of card is card stock that has been colored with stipple brushes and dye inks in various pastel shades. Ink butterfly stamp with Brilliance Pearlescent inks. I used yellow, sky blue and purple. Stamp on vellum and cut out. Stamp butterfly bodies with black ink on white card stock and cut out. Glue tobutterflies. Attach to card with foam tape placed underneath the body portion. Bend wings upward. Pink Rose Fold pink card stock in half for the card. Ink stamp with embossing ink and stamp on right side of card. Emboss with gold crystal embossing powder. Tie sheer pink ribbon into a bow. Glue to front of card on left side. Red Rose Cut beige parchment paper into a 2 7/8" x 5" rectangle. Stamp rose in middle with embossing ink. Emboss with gold crystal embossing powder. Color with red and green markers. Using a ruler and an embossing ink pen, draw lines around outside edges. Emboss with gold crystal powder. Layer on red card stock. Place on black card to determine placement of tape in next step, but remove before embossing. Using 1/8" red line tape, attach a line of tape on either side of image. Remove image and emboss tape with gold crystal powder. Attach rose image to card.
